# Content guidelines

Rules for games and cover art submitted to Wavedash

These rules apply to all games submitted to Wavedash. If you break them, your submission may be temporarily removed. The goal is not to define taste. These guidelines are intended to ensure players have a consistent experience on Wavedash.

## Content

### Your game must not integrate cryptocurrency or blockchain features

### Your game must not facilitate real money gambling

### Your game must not target people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, national origin, caste, color, indigenous status, immigration status, religion, or perceived membership in any of these groups

### Your game must not impersonate other games

### Your game must include free gameplay before triggering a paywall

If your game uses [Paid Content](/publishing/monetization), players must be able to start playing for free before you ask them to buy. Do not trigger a paywall immediately on load or before the player has had meaningful free gameplay. Trigger the paywall when the player reaches locked content, selects a paid mode, or chooses to buy.

## Performance

### Your game must load reliably

### Your game must not crash the browser tab

### Your game must save any progress that a player will naturally assume to be saved

## Metadata

### Your game's title must be primarily in Latin script

[Latin script](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_script) includes letters, accented letters, numbers, and symbols. Limited stylistic use of other characters is acceptable. Titles in languages that use non-Latin writing systems should be transliterated or translated. This applies to both your game's title and the title displayed on your cover art.

## Cover art

### Your cover art must have square dimensions (1:1 aspect ratio) and fill the intended area (no letterboxing or nonstandard cropping)

### Your cover art must feature your game's title

### Your cover art must not feature any text besides your game's title
