# Creator Fund

Earn a share of a monthly pool based on how much people play your game

Source: https://docs.wavedash.com/publishing/creator-fund

The Creator Fund is a monthly pool that Wavedash distributes to developers based on how much players play their games. It's a way to get paid for making games people love, separate from [Paid Content](/publishing/monetization) sales.

Games are **not enrolled automatically**: you have to [opt in](#opting-in) each game manually before its play counts.

## How it works

Each calendar month, Wavedash calculates the eligible playtime across every enrolled game. Your game's share of the pool is proportional to its share of that total playtime: if your game accounts for 5% of eligible play, it earns 5% of that month's fund.

Eligible play means real sessions in the live, published version of your game. Play that appears manipulated or fraudulent is excluded.

## Opting in

Enrollment is manual and you need to opt in on a per-game basis. Open **Developer Portal → your game → Monetization** and click **Opt in** on the **Creator Fund** card. Eligible play starts counting toward future monthly calculations once you're enrolled.

<Note>
Playtime calculation does not begin until you've opted in, so do it early. It's free, and it doesn't change anything else about how your game is sold or played.
</Note>

## Getting paid

Payouts are distributed at the end of each month. You'll get an email and a notification with the breakdown per game, and earnings appear under **Developer Portal → Earnings → Creator Fund**.

Creator Fund earnings pay out alongside your other Wavedash earnings through Stripe Connect — see [Getting paid](/publishing/monetization#getting-paid) for setup. No marketplace fee applies; you receive the full allocated amount.
